Here are a couple of samples from my first studio album. I made it in Santa Cruz, CA with an amazing group of musicians. We called ourselves "Lost Borders" because we were dedicated to finding a sound that had no genre boundries. The "Santa Cruz Years" are incredibly special to me.

Lost Borders was Peter Wilde on Bass, Baird Miller on Lead guitars and Michael Strunk on drums, percussion and Basin Drum (see Basin Drum in photo of us and listen to it on the track called "Working" below). Buy the CD

This is my favorite CD to date. In 2007 we flew to Austin, TX to lay down drum and percussion tracks (and, as it turned out, some bass and fiddle too) at our dear friend Merel Bregante's studio. He set the groundwork for what Casey and I were hoping to build: a raw sound that's slick at the same time; big emotion and quiet thought; a wash of crazy colors over a very solid structure.

When we got back to Nashville, Mike Bradley helped us put the rest of it together and there you have it - not overnight...but over time.

Then when I decided to revamp the "Flyer Song" video, I was so blessed to have my dear friend Ron Oates at the helm. He arranged, played, produced and directed and the result is an amazing soundtrack to an already amazing video. I just had to put it on the CD.

I hate that it takes so long from top to bottom of any given project in my life but that's how it is when you're doing everything yourself...I mean when you are leading a group of magnificent angels from one place to the next - it just takes time.

I do believe, though, that "if you build it, they will come". And by "they" I mean shows, travel, new friends, adventures, fans, new co-writers and more, more, more music.

This title CD is my second and it's a compilation of several different projects from California to Nashville. This project is such a labor of love. It includes songs I wrote with amazing writers like Steve Seskin and the whole thing is held together by excellence: The excellence of the people with whom I worked as instrumentalists, singers, writers and engineers.
